Exhibition runs December 13th – February 1st, 2015

Valley Variety is pleased to present Warren Street, a solo exhibition. In this collection of oil paintings, Ken Young captures life along the main commercial corridor of Hudson NY.

Young’s work as a landscape and portrait painter is grounded in realism. Young states, “I see beauty everywhere. Even in what some might consider commonplace and ordinary. Oftentimes it is fleeting and momentary. I find great pleasure in capturing  and preserving it with brushes and paint so that I can enjoy it later and draw attention to it for others to know that amidst the suffering and uncertainty there is goodness, peace and harmony. It serves as a reminder that these virtues will triumph in the end.”

For a second year, Young has collaborated with Sketch Art Supplies to produce of calendar of his Warren Street scenes. The bulk of the work in this exhibition is featured in  the two calendars. The 2015 calendar will be available for purchase at the gallery and at Sketch, 701 Warren Street.

Young was born in Charleston, South Carolina and raised in Hudson, NY. He is a member of the Columbia County Council on the Arts. His work has been featured in national and regional publications and shown in many solo and group exhibitions.
